Has your sister been talking your ear off about how excited she is to take pictures on her trip to Germany over Christmas? Or maybe your best friend mentioned they want to upgrade their headphones before they have to fly across the country?   Traveling is always exciting and there are tons of gadgets to help make...

Flying With AirAsia Thailand

While living in Chiang Mai, we got to explore a lot of Thailand including several trips to Bangkok and a two week trip to the Southern part of the country. To get the most out of our trips, we wanted to spend as little time and money on transportation as possible. We have flown with AirAsia Thailand a dozen times and we are always pleased with our service. Recently, we flew with AirAsia Thailand to Bangkok and then on to Hanoi. It was our first international flight with the airline and...

Chillax Resort Bangkok: The Most Romantic Hotel In The City?

Chillax Resort Bangkok bills itself as “the most romantic love story that you will ever have in Bangkok.” Everyone’s idea of romance is a little difference and despite the pictures of white rooms lit up in a purple glow, we weren’t really expecting neon accent lighting in the ceiling above the beds. The hotel caters to couples and it seemed like most of the guests were of this category, but we stayed here to meet up with friends and didn’t feel the couple-ness was being rubbed in our faces. Modern in...

BIG Hotel Singapore

BIG Hotel Singapore was not exactly big, and neither were the rooms. This little boutique hotel was built only a year ago and has a fun subterranean lobby that you access by glass elevator from street level. The ironically named design hotel is in a great location near Little India and Orchard Road. The lobby has a cozy set-up with couches and a television for guests to enjoy in the company of others. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="2445,2446,2448"] The Rooms You would expect a self-proclaimed design hotel to put a little thought into paint color,...

Karon Sea Sands Resort and Spa

Karon Sea Sands Resort and Spa is tucked away from the noisy street just around the corner from hundreds of bars, shops and tour operators and right across from the beach. You can see the beach from the lobby, yet the pool is in a quiet little pocket so you can easily relax. At night, the surrounding streets are crowded with tourists in beachy outfits buying souvenirs and enjoying the nightlife. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="1924,1925,1921"] The pool was surrounded by lounge chairs and had several water features that create some pleasant ambient noise....

Krabi Airport Shuttle Bus: Not The Quickest Option

We flew in to Krabi airport and didn't know at the time that only private taxi and bus companies operate there. We figured we would walk out to a taxi line and hop in the next one, like we do at pretty much every other airport. Getting to from the Krabi airport to our hotel proved to be quite different, however. In short, you either have already arranged pick-up through your hotel or you have to hire a car, rent a car, or take a shuttle bus. You won't be...

How To Save For Longterm Travel

Travel is not cheap. Period. Even flying on the cheapest airlines, staying in the cheapest accommodations, and doing all the cheap activities you can find will add up to a considerable amount. So how can you go on your dream trip without moving back in with your parents? Research, Prioritize and Execute.   Research! Decide on a travel goal. Narrow down all your travel desires and destination ideas into one specific trip. This doesn't mean that you have to choose only one destination but you will need to transform your dreams into an attainable...
