The Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel

The Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok Hotel is located just minutes away from the best nightlife and shopping in the Sukhumvit business district. This hotel boasts classic elegance and sophisticated 1920s Italian-American design. The hotel has many well designed spaces including New York penthouse themed meeting rooms and a rooftop infinity pool with sweeping city views. During our stay we saw business travelers, families and couples alike relaxing in style in this centrally located luxury hotel.

The rooftop infinity pool had a great view of the city, especially at night when everything lit up. A small pool bar closes at 9 (along with the pool), but the gym is open 24 hours.

The Room

Our King Deluxe room was the perfect size for two people. It had a small sitting and office area next to the bedroom with a comfortable sofa and angular desk. The large marble bathroom had a rain shower and free-standing bathtub. The entire room was laid out well and the full wall of floor to ceiling windows allowed almost a 180 degree view of the city.

The Food

The downstairs prohibition-themed lounge/restaurant is open late and was a great place to hang out and get some work done during the day. Purple velvet chairs are surrounded by stacked suitcases inspired by the many ways bootleggers sneaked booze to their clients. Menus are giant passports and one entire wall is covered in chalk drawings of the New York skyline.

Breakfast was served on the second floor in the Scalini restaurant (upscale Italian at night). The continental breakfast was laid out in the exposed kitchen and guests were invited to reach right into the fridge and grab their milk, yogurt and fruit. It was a unique way to spice up a typical continental offering.

There are so many places to get comfortable in this hotel that we didn’t spend much time in our actual room. The small outdoor space is creatively designed and filled with oversized furniture. Even the lobby is enormous and full of comfortable sitting options.

The Hilton at Sukhumvit was a refreshing hotel to return to after being out for the day in the madness of bangkok. The staff were extremely attentive and will work hard to cater to your needs. They took much of the stress out of the end of our trip by arranging for a limo to take us to the airport.

Quick Tips

  • Take advantage of the hotel concierge to arrange local transportation, they will be able to tell your driver where you are going and make sure you have agreed on a fare
  • Try Lemon Tree for a great dinner outside the hotel
  • Just around the corner (leave the hotel, turn right, turn right again) are a lot of local restaurants and street food
  • Visit The Hilton online to make a reservation

Poplar Travels was a guest of The Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok. Our opinion is always our own.
