How To Get A Myanmar Visa
Due to the rise in tourism in Myanmar and the continued improvement of government organization, applying for a visa for Myanmar is now as easy as paying a bill online. The new e-visa program does not require a visit to an embassy, it sends a visa via email and is approved within 3 days.
The Myanmar visa can be applied for directly on the Ministry of Immigration and Population’s website at http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/
The Myanmar visa is currently available for residents of 50 countries and the list can be viewed at http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/NoticetoTourists.aspx
All you need is :
- A passport with validity of 6 months or more.
- One color photo 4.8cm x 3.8cm taken during the last 3 months.*
- A payment of $50 USD is required by Visa or Mastercard
*We took our photos on our camera and uploaded it directly to the application webpage. Their page will automatically resize your photo so it doesn’t have to be the exact dimensions.
And thats it!
The application process for both of our visas took about 20 minutes total. Evanne’s Myanmar visa was approved within 8 hours and mine took about 26 hours. Afterwards all you have to do is print the confirmation that they send you and then show it to immigration once you arrive in Myanmar. The visa is valid for 90 days once the confirmation is emailed to you and it allows for a stay of 28 days in Myanmar.
